MATT SKINNER, PRESIDENT

Matt Skinner is the leader of Empire West and its affiliates, specializing in buying under-valued apartment assets and development opportunities. Empire West provides its investors a higher rate of return than they can typically find elsewhere because Twelvestone gets the very best deals. To expand the firm’s deal flow, Matt began teaching other real estate entrepreneurs across the country his techniques for powerful deal making and has created an army of sophisticated DealMakers that serve up the the very best deals on a consistent basis (http://www.dealmakersociety.com). 

As a builder, Matt has won several prestigious awards, specifically for one Bel Air spec home project that was completed in 2008 and sold for $2M over asking price. He has successfully developed luxury spec homes, a shopping center, and multifamily projects. Mr. Skinner is a recognized speaker on market cycles and investment strategies. He enjoys obstacle course racing, hiking, sailing, and competitive combat sports. He is an active member on the board of Triumph Foundation (www.Triumph-Foundation.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with spinal cord injuries triumph over their injury.

RON METRAKOS, INVESTOR RELATIONS MANAGER

Ron has a distinguished career in real estate and raising private capital for over 20 years after graduating from Southern Illinois University with a degree in business management.  Ron was the business development manager for the largest real estate advertising firm, Hobbs/Herder in Newport Beach, CA.  He also broke sales records at the largest real estate coaching and training company, Tom Ferry Coaching in Irvine, CA.  Ron began his career as a Realtor with a Help-U-Sell real estate agency in Mission Viejo, CA. 

His wide range of real estate and private placement capital raising experience as an asset manager and sales manager makes him highly qualified to lead and grow our asset manager team.  Ron and his wife, Cary, live in Mission Viejo and have two boys who recently graduated from college and 3 dogs.  He is a USTA rated 4.5 tennis player and enjoys riding his motorcycle to the beach, desert and mountains.

BRET LAMPREY, ASSET MANAGER

Bret started in real estate as a loan officer in the mortgage industry for over 10 years. 

After becoming a partner at Empire West, over 2 years ago, he has been our most successful Asset Manager, bringing in investors from all over the globe. He prides himself in his expertise of our projects and loves to remain hands on throughout the entire investing process.

He enjoys spending time with his son, golfing, and hiking. As an Asset Manager, he looks forward to helping smart people invest in high performance real estate.

TIM ALLEC, ASSET MANAGER

Tim has been a business owner, inventor (2 patents), investor and partner with integrity for over 20 years since graduating from UCLA.

Married (28 years), 4 kids, enjoys backpacking, basketball, ping pong and church activities.

Passionately enjoys helping people discover the exclusive benefits of partnering with our team.

CARLOS A. GAMBOA, ASSET MANAGER

Carlos Gamboa is a dedicated and relentless  worker set on crushing ambitious fundraising goals here at Empire West. Actively engaging with an array of clientele to help further expand the full reach of Empire West's progressive success.

Originally from San Diego, California, Carlos graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's in Political Science. After college he moved to Los Angeles and started working for Empire West. Carlos is an aspiring attorney who enjoys traveling, camping, and off-roading on his spare time. He is also a distinguished donor inspired to support future SDSU students.

NOREEN ONESTI, EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Noreen Onesti was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she worked as a Paralegal and a Business Law Case Manager after graduating college. During college, she worked at various law firms, residential leasing firms and construction businesses. Noreen finished her 4.5 years of legal studies remotely, including two internships with the American Bar Association: The Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee, and Financial Responsibility and Client Protection Committee. She graduated at the Skirball in February 2005, pregnant with her fourth girl. 

In 2002, the company her husband was working for was bought out by a spin-off of the original Dutch Fokker Company which led to her, and her husband relocating overseas where Noreen and her four girls lived from 2006-2011. Since Noreen was not able to work legally, she spent her time volunteering in the Dutch international schools her daughters attended, and served as the Overseas Committee Chair for Girl Scouts Overseas, representing and managing all of the South Holland Troops for which she attended regularly training on an army base just outside Pisa, Italy.

Noreen sent her resume in to an advert Matt Skinner posted stating something like, “if you like a challenge and love to be busy, this is the job for you!” Noreen couldn’t resist, and now serves as Matt’s Executive Assistant as well as to the CEO, Michael Murray, and the entire office staff with anything they need.

NINA TURCIC, ACQUISITIONS LEAD

Nina is the Acquisitions Team Manager and oversees the A-Team, as well as specializes in finding and negotiating off market deals for our firm. Nina became a licensed real estate agent in 2013. After selling $5 million in residential property over the last two years, she expanded into land and apartment acquisitions.

Nina started her career 13 years ago as a civil engineer for one of the top companies in the world, Turner Construction.  Being an entrepreneur at heart, she took a hiatus from construction and expanded her resume with starting two businesses and successfully managing each for several years. Always having a passion for construction and architecture, she then decided to broaden her aspirations where she began a career in real estate. 

Nina attended Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a Minor in Physics.  While attending Saint Vincent College on a full scholarship, she was a member of the women’s basketball team. Nina was a four-year starter and captain on both her high school and college basketball teams. Nina brings her leadership skills along with her competitive nature and drive to her professional life and loves a challenge. She also enjoys hiking, working out and living an active healthy lifestyle.

DANTE UNDERWOOD, ACQUISTION MANAGER

Over Dante's multi-faceted career, he has worked with some of the largest corporations in the country including Marcus & Millichap Commercial Investment, Keller Williams Realty, and others. His business management training helps clients understand the opportunities available in the midst of any market.

He has put his array of skills to work upon receiving a invitation to join Empire West. Dante's focused understanding allows him to provide clients quick access to the developing investment opportunities in California and surrounding states.

GABY SERESI, ACQUISITION MANAGER

Gaby Seresi joined Empire West in February of 2017. She is a part of the My Fresh Start department which specializes in the purchase and selling of pre-forclosed properties to help families avoid foreclosure to get a renewed "fresh start." 

Her background and education have proven to be very helpful in her current position. Gaby was previously a child therapist working with children with autism for 15 years. She has a certification in Infant Massage and a double BA in both Psychology and Child Development from California State University of Northridge. She is a mom of three very active boys, loves family time, and is dedicated in helping others pursue happiness.

LORENA FORNE, ACQUISITION MANAGER

Lorena joined Empire West in February of 2017. She is a part of the My Fresh Start department which handles the purchase and selling of preforeclosed properties to help families avoid foreclosure.

Prior to Empire West, Lorena has been a hairstylist for 20 years. She has mastered patience, sympathy, and communication with her clients which all benefit her in her new position here at Empire West. 

She's a mom of an amazing daughter, enjoys eating healthy and juicing, working out, water sports, a glass of wine with toes in the sand, but, most of all, family time!

RYAN BRENNEMAN, ACQUISITION MANAGER

Ryan started investing in real estate in 1999 at the age of 20. Operating businesses in different fields such as Retail Management and Landscape contracting, has created a valuable network of professionals. Ryan has been known to come up with creative solutions to create profitable and successful transactions.

With 16 years in customer service, operating businesses and investing in real estate, Ryan has learned that most important thing he can do to better serve his clients is listen. Listen to what their short and long term goals are so he can help them reach those goals. 

With his experience and network of professionals, he can successfully complete transactions where others fail. If it's a new home for your family or adding profitable real estate to your portfolio, he will get you there.

ARSALAN HAYATDAVOODI, PROJECT COORDINATOR

Arsalan Hayatdavoodi is an attorney who has been involved in real estate development and investments for the past 15 years. He has served as a Chief Financial Officer of a family owned real estate development company involved in development of high rise condominiums overseas. He has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of a real estate development company involved in development of residential subdivisions in the greater Los Angeles area. Arsalan is a landlord owning investment properties in several countries.

Arsalan has acted as the chair of the California Business Advisory Council and has been awarded with Congressional Order of Merit for his leadership skills. He is an active member of the California State Bar, Beverly Hills Bar Association, Santa Monica Bar Association, Iranian American Bar Association, and Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Arsalan loves to play music, read, and travel.

Jessica Jeffress, Controller

Jessica received a Bachelor's of Science Degree (B.S.) in International Business and Finance Cum Laude with a German minor in 2003, and a Master's Degree in Business (MBA) with a Finance focus in 2006. She completed all the required accounting classes online at Santa Monica College to sit for the CPA exams. She has now passed all 4 CPA exams plus the required ethics exam and needs only about 4 more months of work experience under a CPA to obtain the CPA license. She is also currently studying for the 3 EA (Enrolled Agent license for tax before the IRS) exams and renewing her CTEC tax preparer license. She has worked 8 different tax seasons at various offices and has worked in accounting for over 12 years including the property management and real estate industries. Before that she worked in the banking industry as a Licensed Personal Banker (Series 7 for mutual fund investments, Series 66 for annuities, Life and Disability for insurance policies, also held a Real Estate Agent license) for Wells Fargo Bank and U.S. Bank processing new checking and savings accounts, credit and debit cards, home equity loans, auto loans, mutual funds, annuities, and life insurance policies. She has been a Certified Notary Loan Signing Agent since 2005 (12 years) and she also speaks German, Italian and Spanish.

In her spare time, she likes to hike, draw, vintage shop, go to the beach, and travel to new towns and events. She dances numerous styles of dance including: swing, salsa, tango, waltz, ballroom, hip hop, tap, jazz, and ballet. She learned how to snowboard and ski this year, and used to compete in iceskating. She has also done part-time gigs as a photographer, model, actress, tutor, teacher, Uber and Lyft driver, and Grub Hub delivery driver.

DANIEL MURRAY, MARKETING MANAGER

Daniel graduated with a Bachelor Degree from California State University of Bakersfield in Communications. He has worked in Marketing for multiple different entities for 10 years. 

Daniel's career in marketing has spanned through entertainment, fashion, construction, and security. He has worked both with large multimillion dollar corporations,as well as freelance work with clients nationwide.

TYLER "LANE", MEDIA MANAGER

Lane is a master photographer, camera aficionado, and was born and raised with cameras in his hands. He has nearly 20 years of professional video and photography experience covering weddings, head shots, commercials, documentaries, and corporate videos, and now joins us in real estate and investing. He is a great addition to the Empire West team as the media manager.

Lane graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography with a B.A. in Film and Video. He is our resident drone pilot and “office therapy dog,” always spreading his humor, and uplifting spirits.

CASSIA WATTS, DESIGN & DATA MANAGER

Cassia Watts is part of Empire West's marketing team and specializes in graphic design.

Having a passion for marketing and graphic design she attended, and subsequently graduated from Columbia College in Chicago with a Bachelors in Advertising Art Direction and a minor in Journalism. During college she freelanced for various small businesses building websites and designing logos.  In September of 2016, she moved to Los Angeles and started working for Empire West. 

In her free time, she likes to draw, and is learning to surf.
