Matt Skinner is the leader of Empire West and its affiliates, specializing in buying under-valued apartment assets and development opportunities. Empire West provides its investors a higher rate of return than they can typically find elsewhere because Empire West gets the very best deals. To expand the firm’s deal flow, Matt began teaching other real estate entrepreneurs across the country his techniques for powerful deal making and has created an army of sophisticated DealMakers that serve up the the very best deals on a consistent basis (http://www.dealmakersociety.com). 

As a builder, Matt has won several prestigious awards, specifically for one Bel Air spec home project that was completed in 2008 and sold for $2M over asking price. He has successfully developed luxury spec homes, a shopping center, and multifamily projects. Mr. Skinner is a recognized speaker on market cycles and investment strategies. He enjoys obstacle course racing, hiking, sailing, and competitive combat sports. He is an active member on the board of Triumph Foundation (www.Triumph-Foundation.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with spinal cord injuries triumph over their injury.


A Santa Clarita, CA native for 27 years, she has been in real estate for over 30 years as an owner of multifamily and commercial buildings, and as a licensed real estate professional at Berkshire Hathaway home services in La Crescenta, CA. With her knowledge of the city's geography, she specializes in assisting with residential real estate endeavors.

She prides herself in her passion and drive to serve her clients best interests and is dedicated, knowledgeable, and committed to finding the perfect fit for real estate investing opportunities with seasoned and new investors alike. She’s here to guide, educate, and provide the best service to all of her clients while representing Empire West Real Estate Investments by providing them the opportunity to become a passive investor with a community of like-minded real estate investors making sound investments based on a solid foundation of fundamentals and integrity.

As an avid explorer of the city, she loves to try new restaurants and check out the local music and neighborhood festivals.


Stacey has been an active real estate investor for more than three decades. Starting out with single family homes and financially distressed properties in the late 1980’s, his achievements include founding a real estate brokerage, which handled leasing and sales of commercial real estate, flex space, and office space in Philadelphia, PA. As an active member of the Philadelphia board of Realtors and National association of Realtors, Stacey transacted millions of dollars of residential and commercial real estate business in the first few years of establishing his real estate brokerage business.

In 1998, Stacey relocated to Orlando, FL with his wife and their three children where he began a decade long career with Marriott International. As a Senior Sales Executive, he personally sold over 20 million dollars of Marriott’s deeded real estate around the world.

Stacey is now a fulltime investor in passive income projects.

Mathew Nolan (Mack), AsSET MANAGER

Mack Nolan serves as the Lead Consultant in Empire West's Project Consultant team.

Coming from a background in Residential and Commercial Construction, he is a successful business owner and entrepreneur as a Project Maintenance Technician. He has overseen and maintained over 40 properties in the Anaheim, CA area. 

Currently attending Saddleback College and acquiring his Law Degree, Mack enjoys being active in his community. He has participated in leader positions in many charities consisting of short-term and long-term commitment like "Operation Smile,” specializing in helping under-privileged communities with dental needs throughout the world. He has helped raise money for non-profit as well as passive income generating business. He believes in personal progression and contributing to society.

Mack enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.

Vito Thomas, AsSET MANAGER

In 1999, at the age of eighteen, Vito started working as a plumber for Local 130 in Chicago, but moved to California in 2002 to master the art of plumbing.  After working as a plumber until 2005, he moved in to general contracting and helped raise money for major build outs that ranged from 200,000sq to 300,000sq warehouse buildings. 

After the 2008 collapse of the economy, he moved over to home improvement sales. In his first year, he was a million-dollar producer, with a $4k average ticket sale selling windows, siding & doors.  After a year and a half of work, he became a manager of his own division, grooming the next generation of sales professionals.  During that time, he created a team that was responsible for generating tens of millions of dollars.  Now he’s here at Empire West!

In his free time, he enjoys creating podcasts and spending time with his family. Vito says, “My family gives me the strength and support to consistently drive myself to the point where failure is not an option. With their support, I can accomplish anything!”

Jennifer Williams, Director of Operations

Jen has spent a large portion of her life overseeing University Admissions departments, and running several of her own successful businesses. As director of operations at Empire West, Jen focuses on making sure our investors are properly taken care of, and aids in project management.

Kelsey Robertson, Investor Relations

Kelsey Robertson specializes in Investor and Personal Relations at Empire West.

Raised in the heart of the south, this Music City native has always had a passion for people. At 20 years old, she took a leap of faith, grabbed a guitar, and hopped on a tour bus to sing around the country. Two years later she packed up her dreams and moved to the west coast to begin a new chapter in life. Her bright personality and devotion to providing excellent service to people allowed her to work in multiple fields, which eventually led her to work for Empire West.

In her spare time, Kelsey still loves to write music, sing, and play guitar. She also has a deep rooted love for watching her favorite Nashville teams, the Predators and the Titans.


Cassia Watts is part of Empire West's marketing team and specializes in graphic design.

Having a passion for marketing and graphic design she attended, and subsequently graduated from Columbia College in Chicago with a Bachelors in Advertising Art Direction and a minor in Journalism. During college she freelanced for various small businesses building websites and designing logos.  In September of 2016, she moved to Los Angeles and started working for Empire West. 

In her free time, she likes to draw, and is learning to surf.

Taylor Diakoff, Marketing

Born in the North, raised in the South, and transplanted on the West Coast, Taylor is a disciplined entrepreneur and marketing professional that specializes in social media marketing. She enjoys building relationships and automating systems. 

Having a passion for leadership, she graduated from Pellissippi State in her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee with an Associates in Business Management. During college, she became well versed in direct marketing, sales, and team building while working for AT&T. Taylor then went on to work with Facebook where she optimized the proficiency of search engines, newsfeeds, and topical data, consistently exceeding goals and expectations resulting in early contact developments for the social media giant.

While working for Facebook, Taylor began freelancing and consulting for various small businesses, providing innovative media marketing strategies tailored to produce leads in their respected industry. In January of 2016, Taylor moved to Los Angeles and started working with real estate investors.

As an avid adventure seeker, she enjoys hiking, taking weekend trips, and eating the best foods. When she’s not working or exploring, you can find Taylor in the gym strength training or spending time with her dogs. 

Taylor’s long-term goal is to become financially free by creating passive residual income through real estate investments. Her dream is to travel to foreign countries and learn to deep sea dive.

Nick thiel, video

Nick Thiel was inspired by James Cameron's "Terminator 2" to go into filmmaking. At 14 years old, he got is first video camera and starting making short movies with his friends. In the following years, he studied acting at the highly respected South Coast Repertory for two years, excelling in its acting program.

Thiel earned a certificate in Video/Production in the local High School ROP Program where he also submitted his short films to the Costa Mesa, CA public access channel.

Thiel continued to excel and follow his dream, studying Film Production and Photography at Orange Coast College before attending the Art Institute of Los Angeles - California. At this university, Thiel flourished in the Video Production program, winning awards at the school's video festivals. He won five awards for his work including Best Short film, Best Directing, Best Narrative, and Audience Favorite. He graduated with a degree in Video Production and ten shorts under his belt.

Since graduating Nick has been editing and producing videos for companies that include Taco Bell, Bodybuilding.com, NYX Makeup, Lindora, Milkita, Monex Gold Coins, Arnold Classic, and Star Trac Fitness.
